Join clinical social worker and leading advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alexa Donnelly, LCSW, as we define and explore the ethical mandate governing professional practice and promotion of Disability Justice & Culture! Participants will enjoy an overview of the ethical, historical, social and legislative framework surrounding developmental disabilities, the importance of language and promoting person-centered practice with the developmentally disabled population, and identifying ways to address ableism and advance neurodiversity, especially within the context of its importance to ethical standards and social justice. Crowd Sourcing : The Healing Power of Groups, Tuesday, 12-10-24 (Live Webinar)

Delve into the meaning and application of shared experience as we explore the unique benefits of group work with therapist and life coach, Shira Sameroff, LCSW! Participants will identify ways to foster safety, mutual support and empowerment of participants in a group, as well as draw upon clinical-based exercises to integrate a deeper comprehension of group dynamics, tools, and purposeful activities for effective facilitation. Awareness and skill in addressing the dynamics of oppression (racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) that may present in interactions among participants and with the facilitator will also be studied.
